Why this exists
Twenty is when you can go.
I stayed twenty-five.
From 28 December 1998 to 31 December 2023 I wore the uniform. Then one afternoon the last signature landed and it was over, the way a sentence ends. Not a bang. Just a period where the words used to keep going.
Nobody prepares you for the quiet part. You spend two and a half decades being defined by a job, a rank, and a set of standards you held whether or not anyone was watching. Then you hand back the ID card, the world calls you a civilian, and it expects that to be the whole answer.
That is the part I wanted to put on a shirt. Not the flag-waving version, and not the tacticool version. The real one: the small stubborn habits that outlast the career. You still square the corners. You still show up early. You still cannot leave a job half finished, and it drives your family a little crazy.
Every design here started as something I actually thought, or heard someone say in a hallway on their way out. If one of them lands wrong, it is because I wrote it, and you can tell me so. If one lands right, wear it. Somebody at the grocery store is going to nod at you, and you will both know exactly what the nod means.
